Summer is around the corner and it’s harder to hide all those bulges and wobbly bits under a summer dress or white t-shirt!
Most women would say they have a stubborn pocket of fat that no diet or extreme exercise plan can budge. Whether it’s inner-thigh fullness, bingo wings, back fat, double chin or post-pregnancy muffin tops, it’s been impossible to shift – until Cooltech arrived!
Recent figures from America reveal that fat freezing, a non-invasive alternative to liposuction, is now the third most popular non-surgical procedure, behind dermal fillers and Botox. The procedure has seen a 24.7 percent rise in one year, partly because there are no needles, incision or downtime.
First approved by the FDA in 2010, fat freezing – scientifically known as cryolipolysis – isn’t new. The Skin Rejuvenation Clinic was the first in Christchurch to offer this fat-freezing technology and has been struggling to keep up with the demand from clients wanting to get their fat ice-blasted off at $600 per area.
“The technology is incredible. You chill the problem area down to -8°C which causes the fat cells to die and then they are removed by your body’s own clean-up system that removes dead cells,” explains Dr Brigid.
There’s up to a 30 percent reduction to fat in the area that is treated. Those fat cells are gone – that means it’s harder to put the weight back on in that area. The magical machine is called Cooltech and it enables women to speedily contour their body shape without the risks of going under the knife.
